The Battle of Imphal, along with the Battle of Kohima, was voted as Britain’s Greatest Battle by the National Army Museum in the UK in 2013. It was the largest defeat on land in Japanese military history. However, for India sadly, it was a battle of Indians against Indians. The men of the Indian National Army (INA) or the Azad Hind Fauj fought against their former comrades in the Indian Army in the Battle of Imphal and before that and further in the later stages of the Burma Campaign. Hear all the stories of the Battle of Imphal and the INA and the aftershocks in the Indian Independence movement in this very thought provoking walk.
